Day 3 - Monday Oct 13th - We left Mountain Home, Idaho early in the morning with our destination being Colorado Springs, CO. The weather was perfect for driving. While we were driving through Idaho I spotted a cougar in a field sneaking up on something. It was pretty cool to see. Parts of Idaho had been hit with a snow storm but the roads were totally clear for us.

We've only been stopping for fuel and food so we trekked right on through a little bit of Utah and then hit Wyoming which was very beautiful. Its amazing how much the terrain changes in each state. We have been seeing a lot of antelope everywhere. We pretty much traveled the whole width of Wyoming traveling on Interstate 80 then went south on 25 heading down to Colorado Springs. We arrived there at about midnight but drove for a while just trying to find an RV park. Swil Kanim was exhausted and getting grumpy so it was good to finally get settled into our spot.

Day 4 - Tuesday Oct 14th - We spent the day relaxing and planning the rest of our trip. My best friend, Kim lives in Colorado Springs so we were waiting for her to get off work so we could visit with her. After she got off work she received a call from her sister with the news that their father was diagnosed with terminal cancer which has spread to his lymph nodes and he has chosen to go with no treatment. Kim's husban, Mark picked us up at the RV park and took us to their place where Kim was waiting for us. It was so good to see her but my heart was hurting for her. When we saw each other we just hugged and cried with each other. I am so glad I was there for her when she really needed a shoulder to cry on. She means the world to me and I would do anything for her. After we settled down emotionally, we had a nice dinner and a wonderful visit. We talked and laughed about our time together in Texas and the fun times we had with our daughters.

Kim took us back to our RV and Swil Kanim played her a healing song. She said she was so grateful that we were there at just the very moment that she needed us. What a Blessing!

It was a short visit but much needed for both of us to reconnect.

Day 5 - Wednesday Oct 15th - We headed out early with Oklahoma City being our next goal.

It was another great day of traveling and beautiful weather. We traveled down I-25 through Colorado then through New Mexico. Once again we are seeing lots of Antelope.

New Mexico is my favorite state and it was good to see the terrain. We are still only stopping for fuel and food, so I am having to take pictures out the window as we go. We headed east on I-40 and went through Amarillo (my birthplace). We arrived at our destination of Oklahoma City at about 9pm and we plan on taking time out tomorrow to go to the OK City Memorial.

It is good to be parked at a decent time so that I could catch up on these blogs as promised.

Swil Kanim has been doing all the driving. He is being stubborn and territorial with the drivers seat. Tomorrow I plan on putting my foot down and pushing him into the passenger seat!

Thank you to everyone who supported this trip both financially and with your prayers. Everywhere we stop seems to be for a reason. We are so thankful to be able to do what we do.

Oxford Mississippi is our next stop. Swil Kanim will be performing for the SonEdna Foundation along with Clyde Ford's reading and presentation of his book and video, Precious Cargo.

This event is on Friday so we should arrive in plenty of time to relax and enjoy some scenery.

Many Blessings to everyone!

Day 2 - Woke up to some snow flurries!! They didnt last too long, though. I called my brother to let him know that we were in town and got the surprising news that they headed to the hospital about 6am this morning and their beautiful daughter was born at 9:59am. What a great surprise. She wasn't due until the 20th and I was totally not expecting to be able to see their baby until who knows when.

John came to pick us up at about 2pm and we went and got the rest of the family and headed to the hospital. She weighed 6lbs, 80z and is 21 inches long. Her name is Keira Elizabeth Jamieson. What a beautiful girl and what a great surprise to be a part of it all.

We are looking forward to what else is in store for this trip.

So, we are heading out early in the morning and our destination will be Colorado Springs.
Day one of our cross-country trip finally began. We started in Bellingham and made a stop in Renton to pick up my stuff from my daughters house. After a sudden stop at Fry's Electronic's, we were finally on our way. Our first stop is in Mountain Home, ID. We figured this would be a good stopping point...mainly because my brother, John and his family live there! His wife, Caryn is pregnant and due around Oct 17th.
The drive to Mountain Home was pretty nice and we enjoyed listening to music the whole trip.
Total drive time was about 10 hours. We arrived about 12:30AM and will be staying at the new RV park here. It is pretty nice and only $30/night. Swil Kanim wants to stay a full day...mainly to watch the Seahawks! We will have a full day visiting my brother and then head out early Monday morning.
