Day 6 Thursday Oct 16th- We headed to downtown Oklahoma City and visited the memorial.
It is one of the most beautiful memorials I have ever seen. Swil Kanim took some great pictures while I listened in on a tour guide about the events of the day of the bombing and the meaning put into the memorial. We were very glad that we took the time out to visit this landmark.
We then headed out and made our way to Arkansas. Our goal was West Memphis, Arkansas.
We stayed on Interstate 40 the whole way and enjoyed the scenery of Oklahoma and Arkansas.
About 11pm we made it to our destination of the Tom Sawyer RV park next to the Mississippi River.

Day 7- Friday Oct 17th - Heading to Oxford, Mississippi which is only about 2hours from the RV park. Oxford is a beautiful little town with the Courthouse right in the middle of town square. We arrived in plenty of time to enjoy all the little shops and have a good cup of coffee. We called Clyde Ford who arrived the night before and we had dinner with him before the event. It was good to be able to spend time with him before hand.
The event is being held at a small art gallery in town and it is for the SonEdna Foundation.
Swil Kanim told his Tree Story and played "The Honor of All" then followed with "Aboard Andante" and I played along with the drum. After that song we continued playing and Clyde Ford read a passage from his book "Precious Cargo". We then watched the video about the book and afterwards they had the book signing and also a silent auction. It was a wonderful night and we met a lot of beautiful people. We were planning on finding an RV park for the night but were graciously invited to stay at the SonEdna Estate. Clyde was also staying there so we followed him to Charleston where it is located. It was probably about midnight when we got there and we visited with everyone for a while before we called it a night. We stayed the night in the guest room and enjoyed the luxury of a real bed. I slept pretty darn good!!

Day 8 - Saturday October 18th - Myrna Colley Lee, the founder of SonEdna invited Swil Kanim to play and speak for some local school principals and teachers that she had invited over to discuss SonEdna and its mission. What a great time we all had together. It was good to learn more about SonEdna. Clyde left earlier for another book signing but returned later in the evening. Swil Kanim and I enjoyed the day relaxing and walking around the property. The artwork all along the estate is incredible and inspiring. There is artwork all along and in the large pond (more like a small lake). I was fascinated with all the pieces.
We all stayed up watching 3rd Rock from the Sun reruns and feasted on some tasty sweet potato pie!

Day 9 - Sunday October 19th - Another day of relaxing. Myrna and the board members of SonEdna spent morning in meetings while Swil Kanim and I enjoyed the day relaxing and of course, watching football. Myrna invited me to stay at the estate on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday when Swil Kanim has to fly back to Walla Walla for a performance. I am thankful for the offer and look forward to getting to know her more.

Day 10 - Monday October 20th - Swil Kanim and I headed out to Memphis so that we would be closer to the airport. His flight leaves Tuesday at 8:30AM so we wanted to be closer.
We also stopped at a Dodge Dealership to have the RV worked on. Our passenger window was not working and seemed to have a short in it. $290 later, we were back in business.
Tomorrow I will drop Swil Kanim off at the airport and then head back to Myrna's.
